NOTE: The video, produced in 2002,
credits Ken Taylor with downing four Japanese planes during the Pearl Harbor attack. This is the number on the plaque
by the P-40 mounted at Wheeler Field. The Air Force Historical Agency confirms only two kills. Taylor felt two planes he downed
fell into the ocean, apparently near the Ewa Marine base during his first flight. A veteran Pearl Harbor researcher has now
confirmed from debris washed ashore that two planes Ken downed did fall in the ocean. Because the researcher with the evidence
has little interest in getting Ken credit for the two additional downed planes, no effort is being made to get the Air
Force Historical Agency to credit him with four kills instead of two. With the plane Ken downed on Guadalcanal before he was
injured during an air raid, this would give him the "ace" designation of five kills which he has been denied. See
photo of the plaque on "Contact" page.
